Welcome to Friday Fountain Series # 3 – this is a fountain (which has been in use since 1911). It is close to my home in Switzerland, situated in a beautiful park, initially the garden of a wealthy family, now open to the public As it is still winter here and the rhododendrons are in full bloom in the background, you can tell this is not a seasonal photo. It makes me look forward to spring though. Look forward to seeing your selections, please go visit fellow fountain lovers and admire their fountain pictures via the links below. Also do consider joining in.

For the month of march I am looking for fountains in gardens or encountered on walks through the countryside. If would like to join in with the fountain photo challenge then please take a look at my fountain page. No complicated rules, just a fountain and a camera required 🙂
- Create your own post and title it Fountain series March
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Add the tag ‘fountain series’ so everyone can find the benches easily in the WP Reader
- Get your post in by the end of the month, as the new bench theme comes out on the first Friday of each month
To make it easier to find everyone’s posts, perhaps you could add the Tag ‘Fountain Series‘.
You don’t have to post on a Friday. Any day in the month will do. If you have loads of pictures that fit into a theme, feel free to post several times during the month or create a gallery or whatever works best for you. While I’ve never run a challenge, I am following Jude’s capable lead and letting myself be inspired by her categories, so I am feeling hopeful that this will work out 🙂.
We have already had some wonderful fountain shares from around the world. Nowathome submitted two wonderful fountains, her first can be found here, or if romance is more your thing, view her second fountain complete with romantic lily pond submitted for Series # 2 . Jude, she of the bench challenge, and inspiration behind the fountain challenge, blogger at the whimsically named Smallbluegreenworlds submitted a Swiss fountain – with a beautifully detailed spout. And Lori at Lumar1298 submitted, what my favourite fountain of the week – a fountain that radiates peace. Situated in the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The fountain is in the form of a woman – intricately planted with different hued plants – I cannot imagine how much time must have gone into planting it. Do make sure to visit her blog and have a look.
I love the setting of your fountain. So serene there. Thank you for mentioning my posts! Much appreciated. Here is my next entry: https://nowathome.wordpress.com/2016/03/11/fountain-series-march-3/
Gorgeous fountain and garden. 🙂
Thank you very much!
I like the fountain theme for a challenge! I’ll go have a rummage in my archives and see what I can find. 🙂
dear Karen Elizabeth
Wonderful! Look forward to seeing what you find in your archives! I ve had to rummage too 🙂
I’ve found quite a few fountain photos, and realise I will have to take some fresh ones, too. I must train myself to stop looking for benches and start looking for fountains, instead! 😉 Here is my first post featuring fountains in a garden:
