Fountain Series # 10 – April: urban fountains – marble fountain in Zürich

Fountain 2

The last urban fountain for April. A tulip, sculpted in metal, and a fountain, set in quiet square in affluent Zürich old-city. Another discovery!

And, practical as the Swiss are, you can drink from most fountains, and this fountain has a small drinking bowl at its’ base for the canine in your life! Admittedly that was maybe not the sculptors intention, but you have to admit it works well for this purpose.

I love cracks in the pavement. When nobody is watching I will hop, skip and jump to avoid them….still today!

Fountains for May – for next week’s fountain challenge: animals or people on or in fountains, it might be a live animal, like a bird in your garden’s fountain, it might be a stone animal decorating a fountain, once again, share whatever you discover.

Create your own post and title it Fountain series May

  • Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
  • Add the tag ‘fountain series’ so everyone can find the benches easily in the WP Reader
  • Get your post in by the end of the month, as the new fountain theme comes out on the first Friday of each month

To make it easier to find everyone’s posts, perhaps you could add the TagFountain Series‘.
You don’t have to post on a Friday.  Any day in the month will do. If you have loads of pictures that fit into a theme, feel free to post several times during the month or create a gallery or whatever works best for you.

We have already had some wonderful fountain shares from around the world.  For the April fountain challenge – fountains in urban settings we have a submission from well-travelled TGeriatrix, this time from Marbella, a true city fountain with colourful tiles depicting the cities of Andalusia decorating the fountain’s bowl.

Please hold  Aletta at Nowathome  and her family in your thoughts, wherever you are in the world. She is a dear blogging friend, who won’t be joining us for the foreseeable future. Thank you Poli.

Please do join us on our visit to fountains around the world. Thanks all for joining in! I look forward to more contributions in the coming months! Poli

    • I like it too – thank you. There are so many of the traditional ones here in Switzerland, all from the same, stone and square trough family, that this makes a refreshing change! Have a good weekend Poli
