I think winter, or at the earliest late autumn, but definitely not summer, is the best time to go to Puglia. At any rate, whenever you go, do make sure to miss the months of July and August, when the beaches are full of party people, and the evenings of disco music. The Puglia climate is very hot in summer, 35°C is not a rare occurrence, and energy levels dip, in the winter, the weather is still good, relatively clement, with little to no rain, and as you can see from the photo above, people still congregate by the sea-front. Cafes on the promenades are also open and there are often heaters so you can sit outside, even if it is a bit cold. Oh and the sea-food is always excellent, although, if you are a vegetable lover, you really would need to go in late Autumn, when the bounty of summer is still available.
